PhotoSensitive

PhotoSensitive is a volunteer collective of many of Canada’s top photographers determined to explore how photography can contribute to social justice.

In conjunction with the XVI International AIDS Conference in Toronto, PhotoSensitive created an exhibit, AIDS: Picture Change, held in the Allen Lambert Galleria at BCE Place in Toronto.

The exhibit features black and white photographs from Kenya, Mozambique, Ethiopia, India, and Cambodia that capture the essence of the fight against HIV/AIDS, and the courage of those whose lives are affected.

In an ongoing effort to give back to the industry that supports us, Context Creative contributed our design, writing and project management services to work with PhotoSensitive and create the poster/brochure and a postcard campaign to promote the exhibit.

This project was created in partnership with CARE Canada, Save the Children Canada, Foster Parents Plan and World Vision Canada, with support from Engineers Without Borders, Taking It Global, CIDA, and the Canada Fund for Africa.

This exhibit is touring schools in Canada to create AIDS awareness among children and encourage them to volunteer with the participating agencies.

Profit or non-profit, our drive is the same
At Context Creative we work with clients and partners to do three things:
• Create big ideas and put them to work
• Get noticed with campaigns that engage audiences and inspire action
• Forge new partnership models to extend both reach and relationships

We are pragmatists with a bias for action. We have the marketing and design experience to know what works and the enthusiasm of teenagers wanting to try something new. A proud supporter of PhotoSensitive, Context is also known for their work spreading the important messages of non-profits such as Waterkeepers, Volunteer Toronto and Rethink Breast Cancer.

Today, we’re interested in three specific areas. Care to join us?
We are currently evaluating the launch of projects in the following areas:
• Improving quality of life through community-based participatory campaigns
• Travel and tourism marketing directed at specific passions (i.e. running, cycling, canoeing/kayaking, the arts)
• The promotion and application of sustainable resource technologies
These will be financially viable partner- and advertiser-supported projects. We are looking for partners who can contribute and benefit.
