Archives of Ontario

Archives Ontario had recently moved into a new building, and with that came a renewed mandate to serve as a resource for the public, especially the educational sector. Archives Ontario has millions of text documents, over 2.9 million photographs, 240,000 architectural drawings and over 85,000 maps relating to the history of our province. In addition to the primary documents, it also has educational programs and lesson plans for teachers at various grade levels. The goal was to publicize this to their target audiences of educators, librarians, academics, students and the public at large in English and French.

Results
Working to a prescribed budget, we created a suite of materials including a12-page booklet and a 4-page brochure in both official languages. The graphic and type design was kept deliberately simple to put the emphasis on the featured photography from the archives. Key brand colours of orange and grey were established throughout.
